How is 3D Facial Implant Surgery Done at THE PLUS?
To ensure the best fit for each individual’s allergies or skin condition, a custom-made implant is prepared in advance based on a thorough consultation and examination. This personalized implant is then inserted during surgery. The key aspect is to design the placement of the implant in accordance with facial proportions, aiming for a natural effect that minimizes any visible signs of surgery. Our primary focus is on achieving a more natural increase in facial volume. Therefore, we avoid using excessively voluminous implants, seeking a more balanced and proportionate outcome.
Treatment Timeline for 3D Facial Implants
Due to the personalized nature of 3D facial implants, the treatment timeline is somewhat longer than that of the standard implants procedure, and requires the patient’s input and patience throughout the designing and manufacturing process. While the process may vary slightly from patient to patient, the following timeline is a guideline to what to expect if you get 3D facial implants here at THE PLUS.
Before your trip: Video consultation and CT scan
At least 30 days before your intended surgery date, you should submit your CT scan to the clinic. Once you have submitted your CT scan, you will have a video consultation with the doctor in order to discuss your goals and desired outcome. The doctor will design your implant, and manufacturing will begin 14 days before your surgery date.
Day 1: In-person Consultation and Medical Exam
Day 3: Surgery day
Day 4: Checkup and aftercare treatment
Day 5: Checkup and wound redressing
Day 10: Checkup and disinfection
Day 13 – 15: Final checkup, disinfection, and stitch removal (depending on your travel needs, stitch removal may be performed slightly earlier, or in your home country)
We recognize that people’s travel schedules and availabilities may vary. The above treatment timeline is an example of the ideal schedule with the least possible required time in-country. For patients with more time in Korea, the entire consultation and CT scan process can be done in person here at The Plus at no extra cost.
