What is a Breast Lift?
Breast lifting is a surgery that trims the skin of sagging breasts and repositions the breast tissue upward to improve the nipple-areola position and breast shape into a more firm and balanced state.
Breast lifting is not a surgery to significantly enlarge or reduce breast size — its purpose is to correct sagging position, stretched skin, and lowered nipple position. It can be combined with implant insertion, fat grafting, or breast reduction surgery as needed.

1
Female Doctor Expertise
Dr. Hoon-yeong Lee, our lead female doctor and breast surgery specialist, is a board certified plastic surgeon and is a member of several highly-renowned plastic surgery societies across Korea. With her experience in top hospitals and clinics across the country, as well as her female touch, she provides beautiful, satisfying results for our breast surgery clients.
2
Precision Diagnosis
At THE PLUS, every breast lift begins with a comprehensive analysis of your degree of sagging, skin elasticity, breast volume, nipple position, and areola size. Rather than simply pulling the skin upward, the surgery targets the underlying breast tissue itself — repositioning it at the source to create results that are both natural and structurally sound.
3
Tailored Surgery
No two patients are the same, and no two surgical plans at THE PLUS are either. The most suitable incision method is selected individually for each patient, with a three-dimensional approach that considers nipple-areola position and the lower breast line together. Where needed, the plan can be combined with implants, fat grafting, or reduction surgery — all while prioritizing durability and minimizing scarring.
4
Dedicated Aftercare
THE PLUS’s commitment extends well beyond the operating room. A structured follow-up care system monitors scarring, swelling, and shape changes throughout recovery, ensuring that results continue to develop naturally over time — always guided by your body type and the outcome you envisioned.
How is Breast Lift Surgery Done?
When undergoing breast lift surgery at THE PLUS, we take several factors into consideration in order to personalize your treatment to obtain the desired results. Lifting method, whether or not to combine lifting with implants, and incision types and locations are all discussed and decided with the doctor to maximize efficacy, results, and patient satisfaction.
Breast Lift Methods at THE PLUS

Donut Lift (Periareolar Lift)
A method that makes a circular incision around the areola to reduce stretched skin and adjust areola size and nipple position.
The periareolar method leaves scarring only along the border of the areola, making it a discreet option that also allows for areola reduction to be performed at the same time. It is best suited for patients with mild to moderate sagging, particularly those with widened areolas who wish to keep any scarring confined to the areola border.
The key advantage of this approach is that both the scar placement and areola size can be precisely controlled — however, it may not be sufficient for cases of severe sagging, and if skin tension is too high, there is a possibility that the areola may gradually widen again over time.

Lollipop Lift
A method using a vertical incision around the areola and from below the areola down to the breast fold.
The vertical incision method is one of the most commonly considered approaches for moderate sagging, offering a strong lifting effect by gathering breast tissue upward while leaving less scarring than the anchor incision. It is particularly well-suited for cases where the nipple sits near or below the breast fold, or where overall breast shape needs to be corrected alongside the reduction.
The vertical incision strikes a favorable balance between lifting effect and scar burden — allowing for breast tissue repositioning and naturally lending itself to a conical breast shape. That said, scarring does remain both around the areola and along the vertical line, and for more severe cases of sagging, the anchor incision may ultimately be the more appropriate choice.

Anchor Lift
A method using incisions around the areola, a vertical incision, and a breast fold incision together.
The anchor incision method delivers the strongest lifting effect of all approaches, making it the go-to choice for severe sagging where a significant amount of stretched or excess skin needs to be removed. It is particularly indicated for patients whose breast shape has changed dramatically following childbirth, breastfeeding, or significant weight loss, or where the nipple position has dropped very low — and it is frequently combined with breast reduction surgery to address both volume and position in a single procedure.
The anchor incision allows for the most aggressive reshaping of the breast, giving the surgeon the greatest degree of control over the final form. The trade-off, however, is that it carries the largest scar area of any method, making thorough scar and recovery management an essential part of the overall treatment plan.
Combining a Breast Lift and Implants
For patients whose breasts are both sagging and lacking in upper volume, a combined lift and implant procedure may be considered to address both concerns in a single surgery. This approach is particularly well-suited for those who find that lifting alone cannot achieve their desired volume, or who are looking for a natural augmentation alongside positional correction. By improving shape and volume simultaneously, it can deliver a more complete transformation than either procedure would achieve on its own. That said, careful planning is essential — implant selection and surgical design must account for the patient’s skin condition and degree of sagging, and those with very thin skin or severe sagging will require especially thorough evaluation. Ongoing implant-related care will also be an important part of the post-surgery journey.

What is the Auto-Augmentation Method?
For patients who wish to improve the shape and position of their breasts without the use of implants, auto-augmentation offers a natural alternative by repositioning the patient’s own breast tissue upward. This method is best suited for those who have adequate existing breast volume but are primarily dealing with sagging, making it an ideal choice for anyone seeking a lifted, reshaped result that still looks and feels entirely natural. Because it relies solely on the body’s own tissue, it is particularly appealing to patients who prefer to avoid implants altogether — though it is most effective when a sufficient amount of breast tissue is already present to work with.
Where Is the Incision Made and Why?

Areolar Circumference

Reason for use: Areola size adjustment; nipple position adjustment; mild sagging correction.
Suitable for: Cases with widened areolas; cases where sagging is not severe; cases where the scar should be hidden at the areola border.

Vertical Incision

Reason for use: To gather breast tissue upward; to correct moderate sagging; to reduce lower breast skin.
Suitable for: Moderate sagging; cases where the nipple has lowered; cases where breast shape also needs to be improved.

Inframammary Fold

Reason for use: To remove excess skin when there is a large amount; to stably correct severe sagging; to refine the lower breast line.
Suitable for: Severe sagging; skin stretching after weight loss; cases combining breast reduction and lifting.
